Hello, world! 👋 Welcome to BeaBytes.
My goal is to help you understand AI and equip you with enough conceptual (but not technical) fluency to fight off the snake oil merchants.
I reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

Béatrice Moissinac, PhD

I am a Staff Threat Intelligence & AI Researcher at Okta. I hold two Masters, and a PhD in Computer Science, and joined Okta in 2021. My main focus is applied AI research to Threat Intelligence and Identity Security, or how to build new AI-based products to better secure Okta’s customers. Between designing two algorithms, I enjoy long-distance running, camping & backpacking, reading, playing board games, gardening, sewing, building legos, and if time permits, renovating my house. My favorite algorithm is Dynamic Time Warping.

Research Areas

AI Research

My philosophy for applied AI research is that AI is a tool box, filled with many different tools, not all of them hammers, because not everything is a nail.

Identity Security

I research AI applications for Identity Security, because I strongly believe that Identity Access Management (IAM) will be made better for customers and more secure through layering AI systems.

Mentoring

Mentoring junior colleagues is an essential (and probably my favorite) part of my work, and I take pride in having participated in their success!
